Mark Wahlberg on Manny Pacquiao’s Influence
Mark Wahlberg on Manny Pacquiao:
“I don’t think anybody is gonna do well against Manny [Pacquiao]. I think Floyd [Mayweather Jr.] is dodgin him a little bit too. And I love Floyd, Floyd’s a friend. And he gets mad at me because he’s seeing me with Manny. And he’s like, ‘You’re suppose to support American fighters.’ But I just love Manny. He’s a humble guy. He loves Jesus. You know, he loves his family. Not to say that Floyd doesn’t. But [Manny’s] just a humble, sweet guy and he’s fantastic at what he does.” (via Lopez Tonight)
Mark Wahlberg on preparing for role in the boxing film ‘The Fighter’:
“I would love for Manny to see the movie.”
I would go to the gym to study Manny all the time. Every time he was training at Wild Card Gym, I watched him because my whole approach was, I wanted to look like a Manny Pacquiao-caliber fighter. I didn’t want to look like another actor who’s doing an okay job. Manny is the best in the world. Who better to learn from?” (via Philippine Daily Inquirer)
